Durian Butter Cake。榴莲漂香



Ingredients | 料:

225g butter | 牛油
200g fine sugar | 砂糖
4 eggs | 鸡蛋
225g all purpose flour | 面粉
2g baking powder | 发粉
50ml milk | 牛奶
50g durian puree | 榴莲肉
1 tsp vanilla flavouring | 香草精

  1. Beat butter and sugar until ligth and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and beating well before next addtion.. 将牛油与糖打起,加入一颗鸡蛋,搅至混和后才加另一颗。
  2. Add in flour and baking powder alternately with milk.加入面粉和牛奶,轮流地加入。
  3. After that, add in durian puree and vanilla. 然后放入榴莲肉和香草精。
  4. Bake for 35 to 45 minnutes at 180 degree celcius.  烤 35 到 45 分钟。
  5. Poke the cake in the middle by using tooth pick, if no nothing stick on it while taking out means it's cooked. 用牙签戳在蛋糕中部,拿出来时没有东西粘上,就代表蛋糕熟了。

Char siu 。叉烧

Char Siu (I named it Chinese BBQ) is a delicious dish which I wanted to learn. I found this Garlic Char Xiu Sauce from boss's recipes collection. Today,I decided to make it for dinner.

叉烧好吃,所以想学做叉烧。不久前从老板的书刊看到蒜香叉烧酱,今天决定叉烧晚餐。

Ingredients | 料

600g pork tenderloin | 600g 腰枚
2 whole garlic, chopped | 2 颗蒜,碎
3 tbsp oyster sauce | 3 蚝油
4 tbsp light soya sauce | 4大匙酱清
4 tbsp sugar | 4大匙糖
3 tbsp shaoxing wine | 3大匙绍兴酒
2 tsp five spices powder | 2小匙五香粉
2 sp red fermented rice | 2匙红糟
500ml water | 500ml 水
1 tsp corn flour | 1小匙粟粉


Procedures | 步

Char Xiu sauce | 叉烧酱

  1. Heat up oil and saute chopped garlic until fragrant. 将蒜爆香。
  2. Add in remaining ingresdients and bring to boil for 5 minutes. 加入其它材料,滚五分钟。
  3. Finally, add in corn flour for thickening. 最后加入粟粉打芡。



Use half the sauce to marinate the loin for 2 to 3 hours (cover and put in the fridge).  用一半酱把肉掩 2 到 3 小时(盖上,放进冰箱)。




Char Xiu | 叉烧

  1. Pan fry until fragrant, until brown and well cooked. 把肉煎熟,煎香。
  2. Slice and serve.切片,上桌。
  3. Remaning sauce can used as dipping. 可点叉烧酱。

Takahashi 。高桥珈啡馆



Takahashi, kinta city, second flour, in between K-box and Huan Xi Di. 10% with K-box member card or Jusco card. but unfortunately I do not have it. It's like restaurant cum cafe, but I felt disappointed for no Japanese coffee is served, I just can find Ipoh White Coffee. We have choosen Curry rice and pizza from the menu. I forgot the actual names on the menu.

高桥咖啡馆,座于怡保近打城,三楼。隔壁是K-box, 另一遍是欢喜地。K-box 和 J card 会员有九折。可是我没有。这里是日本咖啡馆,却没有日本咖啡,只有怡保白咖啡,有点失望。从菜单,选了两样,日本咖哩饭和比萨。不记得菜单上的名。


Japanese Curry rice Rm12.90 approx. | 加哩饭


The curry was so so. The curry taste is too light. I prefer Japanese Curry at A Lai I Japanese Restaurant, Bandar Medan Ipoh Baru, or Waraku's one, much more better. 

加哩普通,味道不够,只有咸和甜味。还是喜欢新井日本料理及和乐日本料理的加哩。味道比较到味。



Teriyaki Chicken pizza RM20++ | 磨菇比萨


Pizza served here most is using cream cheese and no tomato paste was used. This is the first time I try cream cheese pizza, taste good. The pizza base is thin crust, taste okay, crust is crispy and nice. Main ingredients are mushroom and chicken but it was hard to find where the chicken is, luckily I able to eat some mushroom, at least. Overall, I prefer Coconut Tree's pizza at Melaka. Both pizza are similar. There's Takahashi Pizza on the menu which banana is used. At the moment, I do not have the courage to try it yet.

这里的比萨都用奶油奶酪,没用番茄酱。第一次吃奶油奶酪比萨,不错。比萨低,脆又香,好吃。主要的材料应该是磨菇和鸡肉,奇怪,怎么找不到鸡肉。磨菇倒吃到,鸡肉呢?和椰子树的一样,都用薄皮,相较之下,我选椰子树。它的招牌比萨- Takahashi Pizza 是用香蕉,我还没有心理准备试吃。

P/S If you want to have some Japanese cuisine, not recommended. 如果想要享用日本料理,不建议。

Bacon sandwich 。培肯三文治

Last night K-box incident, I think I should stay in my tiny office corner to have my low cost sandwich as my lunch. Lunch of the day, bacon sandwich. Ingredients were obtained from balance stock in the kitchen.

K-box一夜,泪一把。今日午餐,自备三文治。材料取于厨房的存货。




Ingredients:

2 slices of wholemeal sandwich bread | 两片全麦面包
3 slices of bacon | 三片培肯
2 lettuce leaves | 两片生菜
1 small tomato | 一颗小番茄
1 light cheedar cheese | 一片切德干酪

  1. Fried bacons on a non-stick pan (no need to add oil, as oil will ease from the bacon). When you found some browning effect, remove from heat and allowed to cool. 煎熟培肯 (用不黏锅,就不必放油,培肯很多油)。待冷。
  2. Place one lettuce leaf on the bread, then bacons, followed by cheese and tomato. Then another lettuce, cover with annother slice of bread. 放一片生菜在面包上,培肯,然后是芝士,番茄,再来一片生菜,还有面包。
  3. You may have your sandwich now. 请享用培肯三文治。

P/S garlic toast for the sandwich will be taste better. 烤个蒜米面包做三文治,更美味。
